Giclée -  (pronounced "zhee-clay")  is the process of making fine art prints from a using archival media and pigmented inks.
 
Media - Type of material to be printed upon, there many types of media, we at My Friend Art providemedia choices in Matte, Photo Glossy,
Photo Semi Gloss, and Canvas.
 
Matte - Media that lacks luster or shine
 
Glossy - Shiny media type used typically for photography
 
Semi Gloss -  Media that produces a finish between glossy and Matte
 
Canvas - Artistic cloth that is stretched over wooden frame for painitng or printing.
 
Background - The portion of a print that lies behind all other images.
 
Foreground - Objects in a print that appear nearest to the observer
 
Graphic -  A design or drawing to add visual interest to a print
 
Text - Any use of letters, numbers and common symbols
 
Font - Styles of text

Does My Friend Art provide framing services?
No, in interest of keeping the products at an affordable cost we determined that we are not the best option to provide framing services. In addition we would have to limit the number of choices of framing options based on storage space required for framing materials.  We would love your business and the chance to sell you more but we just are not the best deal in town.
 
What can I send you to print?
We can print just about anything as long as the quality of the image is good enough to produce a high quality result.  We however cannot print anything that is licensed or owned by any other parties.  It is possible to obtain a license to print for certain images for a one time surcharge so if there are any specific licensed images that you really like please feel free to contact us and we can determine the cost and possibility of obtaining printing rights.  Many of these printing rights fees are significantly more than our printing services.
 
How do I know whether my picture is good enough quality to print?
Just upload it and we will tell you the maximum dimensions we feel good about printing your picture.  If you are using a digital camera make sure you set your picture resolution to the highest available setting.  We can always scale a picture down but it is hard to scale it up.
 
What if I get lost during the creative process?
Pick up the phone and give us a call.  We will walk you through the steps.
 
What if I know a great artist that I think could add to My Friend Art?
Sends us an email of give us a call. We always like adding great artists and their works to My Friend Art. Due to the family nature of the site we do not accept work from artists that is mature in nature.
 
What if my art looks different colors than the image I accepted at proof stage?
All monitors are calibrated differently,  there may be slight variation from monitor to printed work but we calibrate our prining process to assure that we produce a match to our selected color profiles.
